FAQ
"What should I pack for the trip?" and other frequently asked questions
General
- 1. I have no sailing experience, is that a problem?
-
Short answer: NO! A positive attitude is more than enough. There will be an experienced skipper on each boat, who will look after you, and teach you about sailing if you want to learn.
- 2. I’ve never been on a boat before, is a sea cruise the right thing for me?
-
The majority of our participants have never been on a yacht cruise before either!Sailing the warm seas is for everyone, and a skipper will be there for your safety. There’s nothing to worry about, join us and experience what sailing has to offer: clear and warm waters, sun, cool breeze and huge flexibility. Indeed, many places we visit cannot be reached by land.
- 3. Do you organize transportation to the marina?
-
Yes, we can assist you with finding the best flights and guide you from the airport to the harbor. On the majority of our cruises, we operate our own buses.
- 4. What should I take with me?
-
Any form of ID (National ID card or passport), some cash and basic clothing. We will provide you with a detailed list of things to pack for the cruise, 2 weeks before departure.
- 5. I don’t know how to swim, is it a problem?
-
Well, you’ll be missing on swimming and snorkeling, but you can always relax on the deck, and we do a few things on land. When it comes to safety, each yacht has life jackets, which you should wear when we are sailing.
- 6. How much time do we spend on the yacht daily?
-
We always try to plan the cruise in a way that keeps everyone happy. The distance between our stops/marinas, are rather short, usually about 15 to 30NM. Sometimes, it means 3 hours of sailing, sometimes 6.We are not sailing on the ocean and the shore is never far away. We try to get the best mix of sailing, sunbathing, swimming, sight-seeing and partying. All our yachts will be cruising together, which allows us to organize many social activities, so you’ll never get bored or tired of being on a boat.
- 7. Who helms the yacht?
-
Each yacht is helmed by a skipper, who is responsible for the safety onboard. Everyone is encouraged to try and take part in maneuvering the boat, our skippers are always happy to share their knowledge and teach you. NOTE – our skippers are always matching the crew in age, so your skipper won’t bite, you can talk to him.
- 8. What's it like living on the boat?
-
You’ll find details and pictures of our fleet on our website. The yachts are always comfortable and spacious. Each of them is equipped with at least 1 bathroom with a shower and toilets, 3 to 4 double cabins and a fully equipped kitchen (or galley). There will also be a fridge, 12V electrical sockets, MP3/CD players and all the equipment needed to cook a delicious meal!
- 9. What’s cooking? How do we eat onboard?
-
We usually divide the crew into a watch system. Each day, a different watch is responsible for cooking meals (breakfast, dinner) for the whole crew, as well as for providing supplies for it (shopping). The two-meals-per-day system works pretty well: breakfast and dinner in the evening. But we might go on land once in a while for dinner; the local food is definitely worth a try.
- 10. Who will be on the yacht with me?
-
We always match the crews based on age and gender. What does it mean? You can expect your crew to be within your age range, and a gender ratio of 50/50. Of course, if you come as group of friends, we can arrange for you stay on the same yacht.
- 11. What’s the weather like?
-
Sunny! Of course, weather can change, but temperatures in the summer average between 25 and 30°C. Rain is rare in the Mediterranean area, and water temperature reaches up to 23/24°C.
- 12. Is there electricity on the boat?
-
While cruising, you can charge electrical devices in 12V car-like electrical sockets. While moored at the marina, 220V socket are always available for boats, so there is absolutely no problem with charging your electrical devices.
- 13. Will someone be taking pictures?
-
We try to take as many pictures as possible during our cruises, but also at parties. We share them by email or over Facebook for those interested. If you are not willing to be tagged on pictures, please inform us about it.
Wnętrze jachtu - częste pytania
Standardowy Rozkład Kajut na Jachcie
Jachty pełnomorskie można śmiało przyrównać do "pływających apartamentów".
- konkretną liczbę przestronnych zamykanych kajut/kabin ("pokojów"), najczęściej z kojami ("łóżkami") dwuosobowymi (zdarzają się też koje piętrowe), zawsze z masą przeróżnych szafek i półek
- przestronny salon* połączony z kuchnią, wyposażoną we wszystkie niezbędne do przygotwywania posiłków rzeczy (piekarnik, kuchenka gazowa, garnki, naczynia, sztućce itd).
Dlatego my podzieliliśmy jachty na 3 klasy standardu, o czym w kolejnym punkcie.
JACHTY 3-KABINOWE (6-8 osób)
JACHTY 4-KABINOWE (8-10 osób)
JACHTY 5-KABINOWE (10-12 osób)
Booking & payment - FAQ
- 1. How do I pay?
-
You can book a single place on the yacht or the whole yacht. In both cases:
- first down payment: 50% of the total cost upon booking
- second down payment: 50% of the total cost at least a month before departure
If you book less than a month before departure, we will require the full amount to confirm your reservation.
- 2. Is there a difference if I book a whole yacht or just an individual booking?
-
Booking a whole yacht is like a group reservation, meaning:
- You need to gather your own crew
- There will always be aspot reserved for a skipper
- If you have your own skipper, you have one more paying crew member
- If not, we will provide one for free. But the skipper will be excluded from any extra costs such as food/fuel/marina fees
- A whole yacht will be cheaper than multiple individual bookings. However, the booking customer is responsible for gathering a full crew. We cannot give you a refund if your crew doesn’t reach the maximum capacity of the yacht.
On the other hand, if booking individually, you simply get the number of places you require on a boat.
You do not have to gather a crew; we will do this for you, by matching you with people of similar age and you will get an experienced skipper for free.
- 3. So, I want to get a whole yacht, what’s next?
-
So, one person is booking the yacht and is responsible for:
- Arranging payments
- Providing the crew’s details (name, surname, date of birth and ID documents) at least two weeks before the cruise
- Being our main contact for communication
- 4. What’s the difference between security deposit and security insurance?
-
A charter company will always ask for a security deposit against any kind of damages that could occur during the cruise. Depending on the yacht, it is usually about €1,000 to €2,500. Upon returning the boat, if there are no damages, you’ll get the full amount back. If not, then part of it can be used for repairs. The sailing etiquette commands the crew to take responsibility as a whole. We should never look for a scapegoat.
You can also opt for yacht security insurance. With the payment of an insurance premium (€100 to €150 per yacht), you are relieved of all liability should any damage occur as the insurance will cover for it.
NOTE – sometimes, security insurance will not relieve you of all liability and will leave you accountable for minor damages, usually up to €100.

In Greece, we don’t usually use marinas but rather harbors, located right next to the city center. We use the so-called “Greek mooring” – anchor dropped from the bow and the pier abaft. - 1. Jak dostać się na Karaiby?
-
